A BIG PART OF WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT IS OUR BUSINESS FOUNDATION

What Makes US Different?

Every company claims they are different and that difference is why homeowners should hire them.
We’d like to suggest that being “different” just isn’t good enough. After all, anyone can make a room “different," but it doesn’t necessarily make it better—functionally or aesthetically.

We’re in the business of making life better for our homeowner clients, not merely different.  And that’s much, much harder to do than just making things look different. Much harder.  So much so that it requires a "next level" perspective aimed at working on the business itself. Only a smart and healthy business can consistently create great products and experiences for customers.

And, that is why we embrace the Entrepreneurial Operating System, EOS, and the six business fundamentals that drive this demanding approach to organization-wide excellence. It makes us better, so we in turn, can make your life better.

The strength of EOS is in the structured framework aimed at improving organizational clarity, accountability, and results.

WHAT DIFFERENTIATES US IS THE HEALTH OF OUR BUSINESS

We Are Not Trying To Be Different, Just Better.

Many businesses pay attention to some of these fundamentals. We incorporate all six with weekly, quarterly, and annual metrics. As you can see in the graphic above, working on “The Business” involves every aspect of the business, from people to process to data measurements, vision, and values.

IT's about ownership

Clear Roles
Preventing things from falling through the cracks

In remodeling, confusion around who’s doing what can lead to delays, missed details, or frustrating back-and-forths. Everyone on our team knows who owns what — from initial consultation to final punch list.  We use the EOS Accountability Chart — not just an org chart, to make sure every responsibility has an owner.

So when you work with us, you know exactly who to talk to about design questions, budget decisions, or scheduling. Behind the scenes, we’re all clear on our roles — and that clarity gives you confidence.

For those in leadership it's called working on your "rocks"

90-day Goals Keep Us Moving Forward It's called "Traction"

Some remodeling projects last months, even years. Gulp. But our team leadership doesn’t lose focus or drift off course because we run in 90-day sprints. Every quarter, each person in a leadership position sets three to seven key priorities — called Rocks — that move the business forward.

Some Rocks improve our processes. Others help us better support our clients. The point is, we’re always working toward specific, meaningful improvements — even while we’re managing the day-to-day demands of complex projects.

Conflict avoided is conflict multiplied

Problems Don't Linger We solve them every week

Remodeling rarely goes 100% according to plan. Check that. It never goes 100% to plan.  Be-that-as-it-may, what matters is how quickly and effectively a team can adapt. EOS gives us a rhythm for that through our weekly Level 10 Meetings, where we identify, discuss, and solve issues — fast.

Instead of kicking the can down the road, we face problems head-on. That means fewer loose ends, happier staff, quicker decisions, and less stress for all of us which eventually trickles down to you. And yes, we measure that through our Guildquality Satisfaction surveys.

Know thy audience

We Don't Say "Yes" To Every Project And that's a good thing!

Because of EOS, we’ve taken the time to define what kind of projects we do best — and who we do them for. That clarity comes from our Vision/Traction Organizer (V/TO), and it helps us stay aligned to the kinds of work we can truly excel at and are excited about.

That means if we say yes to your project, it’s because we’re confident we’re the right fit — not because we’re chasing volume. The result? Better experiences, better outcomes, and better relationships.

hiring the right people is everything

A Healthy Team Means a smoother experience for you

EOS doesn’t just help us run a better business — it helps us build a better culture. Tools like the People Analyzer ensure we have the right people in the right seats. The discipline of regular meetings and shared values helps us communicate, collaborate, and support one another.  It also helps us hire and keep great people.

You may not see all of that directly, but you’ll feel it: in the responsiveness of our team, the professionalism of our trades, and the level of care we bring to your home.

Leadership in remodeling

Better Leadership It's a service advantage for you

When you choose a design/build remodeler, you’re trusting someone to lead you through one of the most disruptive and personal projects of your life. You are expecting a lot and you should. EOS helps us lead better. It gives us the structure, habits, and accountability we need to deliver consistently, communicate clearly, and solve problems proactively.  It's how we reached our 95% client satisfaction goal in 2024, won the 2024 Master Design Award, and our second Torch Award for Ethics in business from the BBB.

Remodeling is an honorable profession and we aim to keep it that way

We Are Deeply Serious About The Business of Remodeling

So, the next time you have a meeting with our design team, or talk with a carpenter or project manager, standing behind them is the rest of the company giving daily attention to the business of remodeling that goes far beyond the process of design and production. Unlike others, we are not interested in surviving business as usual. We are about flourishing, growing, and simply getting better at everything we do—including running our business.

Think of us as the remodeling business that constantly sharpens our axes.
