When a devastating fire destroyed their cherished Annandale cabin, this family faced the heartbreaking loss of not just a structure, but decades of memories made on the lake. Instead of dwelling on what was gone, they chose to see the moment as an opportunity for a fresh start — one that could bring their growing family closer together.
With new grandchildren in the picture and family gatherings expanding, they needed more than just a rebuild. They wanted a cabin designed for the future — one that could adapt to their needs, offer modern comfort, and provide space for generations to enjoy.
A great example of turning loss into opportunity, this couple leveraged their initial insurance claim as a launching point to do more than the restoration covered by insurance. Working with our team, they expanded the project into a secondary remodel that transformed the cabin with a full second story, adding even more bedrooms, bathrooms, and living space.
By taking a comprehensive approach, they not only replaced what was lost but also created a lakeside legacy retreat that truly supports the way their family lives for the foreseeable future.
