Murphy Bros. Acquires Sass Construction

President and owner John Murphy says the November 28, 2014 acquisition of Sass Construction has added seasoned professionals, extended capabilities and convenience to south metro homeowners.

Over the past 30 years, Sass Construction has been well known and respected for its projects in Bloomington, Chanhassen, Chaska, Eden Prairie, Edina, Excelsior, Minnetonka, Mound, Plymouth, Shorewood, and Victoria.

“Mark Sass and I have known each other for years as friendly competitors, sharing such values as integrity, honesty and a passion for thoughtfully designed and constructed projects. So when he came to me with the offer to sell Sass I was both pleased and not all that surprised,” explained John Murphy. “Mark had been talking for years about wanting to pursue other interests, including the involvement with his son Brent who is well known in the Alaskan dog sled circuit. And now he can do just that.”

The addition of Sass’s Project Manger, Jamie Rosenlund and lead carpenter Ivan Sass will give Murphy Bros. the ability to expand their services to south metro area homeowners. “I think it makes a big difference to both clients and our employees when you live near the areas where your jobs are located. It certainly makes it easier to oversee multiple projects when you’re not driving clear across town just to check progress on a job,” states Rosenlund, who has been working in the construction industry for more than 20 years. Together the two companies boast nearly 70 years of combined remodeling experience.
