Murphy Bros. has won the NARI Regional (CotY) Contractor of the Year Award for the Kitchens $150,000 and over category. It is the 7th CotY award earned by the design/build firm, now in its 36 year of remodeling for Twin City homeowners.
“This is a big deal,” comment owner John Murphy, “It’s a pretty high bar in terms of design and craftsmanship. And you are also going up against a lot of excellent and experienced remodelers,” remarked Murphy, “I couldn’t be more proud of this project team led by designer Cherie Poissant and lead carpenter Mark Arntzen to name only a few who contributed.”
Murphy Bros. will move on to the National CotY competiton where they will compete with other regional winners from Virginia to California. The regional winners list also includes Magnolia Homes in Waco Texas.
NARI (National Association of Remodeling Industry) received over 350 entries that totaled more than $97 million worth of remodeling projects. There were only 154 Regional Winners and 24 Regional Team Winners of this prestigious award.
Winning project designer Cherie Poissant has a long list of CotY awards, having received her first regional and national awards in 2005 & 2006, more CotY awards in 2013 & 2014, a Master Design Award in 2015 and now another CotY Regional award in 2019.
“I am so grateful for this recognition and to the whole team that made this possible,” stated Poissant, who joined the design build team at Murphy Bros. in 2007. “Projects that win at this level have three core elements— thoughtful innovative design, meticulous craftsmanship and great homeowner collaboration,” explains Poissant. “So a big congratulations to our carpenters, painters and Homeowners Patti and Dave!”
“It takes a lot of skilled people to create someone’s dream kitchen,” remarked John Murphy. “So this is a win for everyone who contributed to the project, not just our staff of designer, project managers, carpenters, painters, draftsmen, laborers, but also our material suppliers, and trade partners,” concludes Murphy.
